Remember when every makeup tutorial ended with a smoky eye, razor-sharp winged liner, block brows, matte Kylie Jenner lips and enough foundation to completely transform your face?

Fast forward to today, and Gen Z is doing the exact opposite.

Skin tints have replaced full-coverage foundation. Lip oils and lip tints have taken over matte lipsticks. Faux freckles are being drawn on instead of covered up. Even the everyday essentials have changed. A tube of Rhode, sunscreen and a cream blush seem to have replaced an entire makeup bag.

And honestly?

I’m loving it.

It feels like beauty is becoming less about changing your face and more about taking care of it. Girls are investing in skincare, wearing makeup that lets their skin show through and choosing products that enhance their features rather than hide them.

The goal isn’t perfection anymore.

It’s healthy skin, a little glow and looking like yourself.

Beauty trends will always come and go, and I’m sure winged liner will have its comeback one day. But for now, this softer, more effortless era feels like a refreshing change.

Maybe less really is more.

I’m Riya

Welcome to my little corner of the internet where I write about all things lifestyle, culture, wellness, food, trends, and whatever else is taking up space in my brain.

Expect unabashed opinions, unnecessary rants, honest recommendations, and observations nobody asked for but I’m sharing anyway.

I’m not here to have all the answers. I’m just here to write.

Thanks for stopping by.
